Short Story Long

Kefi is an enthusiastic celebration of spice and natural materials. At the top there is an absolute made from the heart of black currant buds grown in the Burgundy region of France, and harvested only 3 months out of the year. Raw, this material can can smell dense and tart and slightly phenolic. Diluted, blended, wrestled into fussy submission, it is plums and stewed fruit, and tart, sweet spring in a bottle.

There are other materials of note, too. A remarkably dense, almost syrupy cardamom extraction from the most volcanic regions of Guatemala, a unique red ginger that is smaller, sweeter, and more ethereal than its more common counterpart. This ginger is grown in Indonesia and steam distilled at the site of harvest, to ensure the preservation of the most vital and lively parts of the oil.

No one needs to know any of this stuff to know if you like the way something smells, or the way something makes you feel. But for those of us who geek out impossibly hard on our materials and what makes something special, Kefi is simply sublime.

A little sweet and spicy!

This was my second favorite scent in the batch of fragrances I received. Off first spritz, you get notes of ginger and black currant. Once it dries down, you get the vanilla and sandalwood with the ginger and black currant, and the overall scent gets sweeter. I really enjoyed this one! In my opinion, it's subtle enough to wear every day, and the scent doesn't project as far the way some of the other scents in the Winter Collection did, but when I got in the car after a full day of wearing it, my cousin (who is not really into fragrances) noticed and complimented me on the scent!

Gorgeous, classy, She's the one

A soft, sophisticated scent. Feminine, without being overbearing. The black currant adds a touch of fruitiness but isn't sticky sweet. The perfect balance. Good for Spring/Summer.

A joyous experience

Kefi was the final fragrance we tested from MDA and it sounds cliche to say you save the best for last but this fragrance is outstanding.
The cardamom and Sandalwood re stars here but the ginger weaves it's way throughout the life of the fragrance lifting the other notes. The black currant adds punctuation in all the right places as the vanilla Musk provides the backbeat the rest of the fragrance grooves to.
This is an excellent fragrance from first spray through the end of the day (or night). You will not be disappointed.
