Tomboy

Another incredibly well-blended fragrance. I do not want to smell like this but it took me on a fascinating scent journey. This is a slightly older butch lesbian in an all-female biker gang. Her leather jacket is a worn-in hand-me-down from her dad who was in the military. It smells like the cigarettes he used to smoke and gasoline. She’s drinking with her buddies at a dive bar on the outskirts of town. If you get close enough, you can faintly smell the vanilla-scented body wash her wife purchased. She buys everyone a round of whiskey shots.

Luxurious. Androgynous. Sweet. Intense. Lovely.

I was intrigued by the Champaca note in this scent and opted to purchase a sample of it. Boy am I glad I did because this scent is not blind buy safe! On a paper test strip, I got a slightly sweet, musky, soft-sueded leather with a lightly woody dry down from the vetiver. Sounds lovely, right?! Well, I decided to wear test it and yikes! On my skin it became sharply medicinal and took ages to reach that light woody note I had enjoyed on the test strip. Even after attempting to scrub it off, the scent still lingered on (no issues with longevity with this one!) While this scent was a miss for me, I would recommend trying a sample of it. If only it had smelled on me like it did on paper.

Tried Tomboy as a part of the Discovery Pack - wow! It really lives up to it's description and more. Both strong and soft, vibrant and yet airy, Tomboy continues to improved as the day progresses. Appropriate for dress up or for daily wear, it delightfully fits both occasions perfectly.
